Balance Point Acupuncture Welcomes Dr. Mandy to Clinical Team

Meet Dr. Mandy: The New Acupuncturist at Balance Point With Training Across Three Continents

WEST PALM BEACH, FL, May 11, 2026 — Balance Point Acupuncture has added a new practitioner to its clinical team, and she brings the kind of background that’s hard to fit on a business card. Dr. Siu Ming Choi O’Neill, who goes by Dr. Mandy, is a licensed acupuncturist and Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. She’s fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, and her training stretches across institutions in China, the United States, and Hong Kong.

“We are excited about the experience Dr. Mandy brings to Balance Point” – David Schnitzer, President.

Training That Spans Three Continents

Dr. Mandy’s education started at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where she earned her Bachelor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. From there, she moved to San Francisco and completed both a Master’s and Doctoral degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at the California Institute of Integral Studies. That alone would be a solid foundation, but she didn’t stop there.

She also holds a Master’s degree in Social Science and Psychology from The Education University of Hong Kong, along with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from The City University of Hong Kong. It’s an unusual academic path for an acupuncturist, and that’s part of the point. The psychology background shapes how she listens to patients. The business training shows up in how she structures treatment plans and communicates clearly about what to expect.

What all of it adds up to is a practitioner who doesn’t just know acupuncture from one tradition or one school of thought. She’s studied it from multiple angles, in multiple countries, under multiple systems, and that depth shows up in the treatment room. She brings a wealth of knowledge to Balance Point Acupuncture Clinic.

A Toolkit Built for the Whole Person

Dr. Mandy’s clinical experience comes from working in multidisciplinary settings alongside chiropractors, psychologists, nutritionists, social workers, and yoga instructors. That kind of environment forces you to think beyond your own specialty and consider how acupuncture fits into a patient’s full picture of care.

Her treatment options reflect that range. She practices acupuncture with and without electrical stimulation, Chinese herbal medicine, facial acupuncture, microneedling, auricular acupuncture, Tui Na bodywork, homeopathic injections, cupping, and Gua Sha. Not every patient needs all of that, obviously. But having the full range available means she can tailor a plan to the actual person sitting in front of her, whether they’re dealing with chronic pain, recovering from injury, managing stress, struggling with sleep, or looking for support with their mental health.

That integrative mindset is central to how she practices. She doesn’t treat a symptom in isolation. She builds a plan around the whole person, and she adjusts it as things change.

More Than a Practitioner

Outside the clinic, Dr. Mandy serves as a Senior Airman in the United States Air Force Reserve. In that role, she advises officers and airmen on personnel matters, a position that requires leadership, composure, and the ability to connect with people from very different backgrounds. She holds an active security clearance and maintains current First Aid and CPR certification.

She’s also a certified RYT-200 yoga teacher, which isn’t just a line on a resume. It’s something she actively brings into her acupuncture practice. Mind-body connection is baked into how she works with patients, not as an add-on or afterthought, but as a core part of moving people from symptom management toward real, lasting wellness.

Dr. Mandy’s combination of classical training, clinical versatility, military discipline, and genuine commitment to patient empowerment makes her a natural fit for Balance Point Acupuncture’s approach to care.
