Ambler, Pennsylvania – The Pennsylvania Lemon Law provides protection for consumers who experience a significant defect that substantially impairs a vehicle’s use, value, or safety within the first 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first, and the problem continues despite three or more repair attempts.
The Pennsylvania Lemon Law also covers vehicles that are out of service for 30 days or more due to significant defects within that same 12-month or 12,000-mile period. Those days do not need to be consecutive or related to the same issue. The law covers new cars, pickup trucks, SUVs, and motorcycles that are purchased or leased and registered for the first time in Pennsylvania, or purchased in another state and registered for the first time in Pennsylvania. The New Jersey Lemon Law covers vehicles with a significant defect that occurs within the first 24 months or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first, and continues despite three or more repair attempts. The New Jersey Lemon Law also covers vehicles that are out of service for 20 days or more due to significant defects within the first 24 months or 24,000 miles. Those days do not need to be consecutive or for the same issue. The law covers new cars, pickup trucks, SUVs, and motorcycles that are leased, purchased, or registered in New Jersey.
